He received his early artistic training from his father and developed his own career primarily as a landscape painter, depicting wooded paths, countryside views, coastal scenes and changing seasons.

Wennerwald later worked as a drawing teacher from 1929 to 1943 and traveled extensively throughout Europe, including Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France and Norway. His work was exhibited throughout Denmark as well as elsewhere in Europe, continuing the landscape tradition in which he had been raised while developing his own loose, expressive approach to the natural world.

Details

✓ Original oil painting on panel
✓ Finn Wennerwald (Danish, 1896–1969)
✓ Signed lower right
✓ 20th century
✓ Scandinavian landscape
✓ Sourced in Sweden
✓ Presented in a vintage silvered and gilt-toned frame
✓ Ready to hang

Measurements

Framed: Approximately 18.1 × 21.7 inches

Condition

Good vintage condition with age-related wear consistent with its age.
