Painted by listed Dutch-Canadian artist Louis Boekhout, this intimate landscape captures a shaded woodland path through loose, impressionistic brushwork and beautifully softened color.

Louis Boekhout (1919–2012) was a Dutch-born Canadian landscape painter who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp under Floris de Cuyper before continuing his artistic training in France. After settling in Québec, Boekhout became known for atmospheric landscapes influenced by the Hague School, Barbizon tradition, and French Impressionism. He was acquainted with prominent Québec painter Marc-Aurèle Fortin, with whom he painted, and his work is represented in the collection of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.
